Vendetta Client Jason Zada wins the Gold Entertainment Lion for Music at Cannes for Pokémon’s 25th Anniversary!

“Pokémon has a loyal fan base but wanted to grow the fandom with the masses.

So to celebrate the brand’s 25th anniversary, Pokémon partnered with another 25-year-old force of pop culture, Post Malone, the most streamed artist globally, to record a cover of a 25-year-old hit song, mixed with Pokémon sound effects.

First, a teaser film on social channels lit up the internet. Then, Post dropped a cover of “Only Wanna Be With You,” by Hootie and The Blowfish. Finally, on Pokémon’s 25th Anniversary, millions of fans from all around the world celebrated with Post Malone and 30 of the most popular Pokémon in a stunning virtual concert experience.”

This project was a collaboration between MediaCom, MediaMonks and Universal Music Group and was shortlisted 3 times at Cannes 2021.
